man recently passed away in a motor vehicle accident in Texas. Meanwhile, another man suffered injuries in the crash. Police said street racing led to the fatal single-car collision.

How the accident happened

The recent collision took place at about midnight on a Monday. According to police, a man who was engaged in street racing lost control of his car and ended up flipping it in a neighborhood. The car then reportedly struck a funeral home.

Authorities said the man was thrown from the automobile and ended up passing away at the accident scene. A passenger in the car survived the crash but suffered injuries and was therefore taken to a medical center. However, authorities anticipated that he would survive. Police said they were still looking for another car believed to be involved in the street racing incident.

How an attorney can help, following the crash

The car passenger who was injured in the accident may choose to file a personal injury claim following the accident, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the crash. Even though the driver of the car died in the crash, his estate could still be sued. In addition, any other individual with an ownership interest in the car that he was driving at the time of the crash may be named in the lawsuit. A lawsuit that is successfully fought might lead to financial damages to cover hospital costs, the loss of wages and other losses tied to the Texas motor vehicle wreck.
