A man has sadly lost his life in a tragic car crash involving multiple motor vehicles. The multi-vehicle rollover crash took place during the evening hours on a recent Tuesday. These types of accidents may occur as a result of negligent driving behavior — such as the failure to maintain one’s lane — which is grounds for litigation.
How the fatal crash occurred
The recent accident took place at around 6:40 a.m. According to authorities, a 24-year-old man was driving a pickup truck along Farm Road 2843. All of a sudden, he reportedly breached the road’s middle line and thus entered oncoming traffic.
At that point, the man allegedly hit a second pickup truck that a 42-year-old man was operating. Police said the first pickup truck also hit a car that a third individual was driving. The impact of the crash reportedly pushed the car into a ditch filled with water and ultimately led to the car driver’s death.
How an attorney can help in these unfortunate situations
The surviving loved ones of the car driver who died in the accident may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the pickup truck driver who allegedly caused the accident. In this situation, they will need to establish liability, based upon a showing of negligence, before a judge in Texas will decide their claim for financial damages. If they can accomplish this, they may be awarded damages to cover the deceased man’s burial costs and other losses resulting from the accident. For instance, the damage award may help with covering the loss of support for the deceased accident victim’s surviving dependents.
