Teen dies in tragic two-car crash

On Behalf of | Dec 2, 2021 | Wrongful Death

A teenager’s life has sadly been cut short in a tragic two-car crash in Texas. The motor vehicle collision took place on a recent Monday afternoon. Now, the teenager’s family members and friends are left to grieve and wonder how such an accident could have taken place. These types of accidents can easily happen as a result of a driver’s carelessness, in which case the reportedly at-fault driver may be held liable for any deaths resulting from the crash.

How the crash occurred

The recent fatal collision took place at a little past 3 p.m. According to police, an individual, 64, was driving a car along a street but did not yield to oncoming traffic. As a result, an oncoming automobile struck the car on its passenger side.

A teenager, 18, was riding in the first car and suffered injuries in the collision. However, after being pulled from the automobile wreckage and transported to a medical center, the teen was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, the two automobile drivers suffered no injuries in the crash.

How an attorney can help after these tragedies

The surviving family members of the teenager who passed away in the Texas crash may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the first car’s driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. If they can establish liability in civil court, based upon a showing of negligence, the judge hearing the case will adjudicate their claim for damages. They may end up receiving a financial damage award to cover the teenager’s burial costs and other losses resulting from the collision. No amount of money can undo the events resulting in the teenager’s passing, but financial damages may help the teen’s family to more easily move forward from the life-changing ordeal.
