A man’s life has been cut short in a tragic motorcycle collision in Texas. Now, the man’s surviving loved ones are left to question how such a fatal accident could have happened. Another man was injured in the collision as well.
How the accident occurred
The Texas motorcycle crash took place early in the morning on a recent Saturday. According to police, a 41-year-old man was driving a motorcycle north along County Road 2500. As he approached the road’s stop sign, his motorcycle reportedly crashed into a car at the intersection of County Road 2500 and County Road 7200. At the time of the crash, the car was headed east along County Road 7200, which also has its own stop sign.
A woman, 28, was driving the car and was transported to a hospital for the treatment of her injuries. However, the male motorcycle driver was seriously injured in the crash and ended up passing away as a result of his injuries. Police announced no citations or charges immediately following the collision. However, authorities continued to investigate the cause of the collision.
How an attorney can help
Police may discover through their investigation who was at fault in the fatal Texas crash. If the woman is found to have caused the collision due to negligent driving — such as failure to stop at a stop sign — the family members of the deceased man may file a wrongful death suit against her, seeking damages. Likewise, if the man is found to be at fault in the crash, the injured woman might file a personal injury claim against his estate and anyone else with an ownership interest in the motorcycle he was driving. Successfully fought claims may lead to damages to cover hospital costs, burial expenses and other related losses.
