A pedestrian has sadly suffered injuries in a tragic car crash in Texas. A woman has also been arrested in connection with the car collision due to alleged drunk driving. The collision took place during the early morning hours on a recent Sunday.

How the accident happened

The recent accident took place at a little past 2:30 a.m. near Interstate 30. According to authorities, a car was traveling northbound on a road and suddenly hit an individual walking in a crosswalk. The pedestrian suffered injuries in the recent crash and was therefore transported to a medical center, where the individual’s condition was deemed critical.

Police said they determined that the car’s driver was operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated at the time of the accident. He was therefore arrested and booked into jail. The arrested man, 25, now faces an intoxication vehicle assault charge.

Seeking help and support as a victim of these incidents

The injured pedestrian may decide to file a personal injury claim against the arrested individual, seeking damages. If the arrested party is convicted on his assault charge, proof of the conviction may be provided in civil court with the goal of establishing liability in the motor vehicle collision. If the pedestrian is successful in the personal injury claim, this individual may be awarded damages to cover losses associated with the Texas accident, such as hospital expenses and even the loss of wages. No amount of money can undo the events leading up to the accident, but it may help the pedestrian to experience a sense of justice following the life-interrupting crash.
